This paper introduces a flexible measurement set-up for the characterization of soft magnetic materials based on a ring-shaped method. In the proposed configuration, the primary winding is positioned off the specimen's surface to enhance measurement flexibility and significantly reduce set-up time. The new approach is compared with a standard toroidal configuration by evaluating both DC and AC magnetic performance on a steel and FeSi specimen. The resulting J-H curves from the two methods exhibit excellent agreement, with a maximum relative error lower than 5%. The equivalence of the solutions is also confirmed by the AC hysteresis loops. The tests assess the reliability and precision of the proposed solution.

Abstract
The tests assess the reliability and precision of the proposed solution.Pubblicazioni consigliate
