This article aims to explore the hybrid genre of reportage, and more specifically court reportage, using the tools of cognitive poetics. The focus is on the qualitative analysis of three court reports by Gabriele Tergit (1894-1982). This word-oriented research, which focuses on deixis, demonstrates that a linguistic study of a literary text can contribute to a deeper understanding of it. The role of social deixis in how the text is received by readers, for example, is an interesting topic.
